While the work has already started on organising Social Media Conference Cymru 2025, your ideas are needed!

💡 Introducing the SMC Cymru Ideas Forum

We’re looking to bring together a small group of individuals to help shape SMC Cymru by being part of an Ideas Forum.

This is an advisory forum feeding in to big-picture plans for the event. Of course not every idea will be able to become a reality, but the purpose is to ensure that a diverse range of voices are represented and that all sorts of perspectives are included to make this a valuable event for all.

💡 How does it work?

We'll meet online 3 times before SMC Cymru 2025 for 60-90 minutes each time to discuss things like feedback from previous events, ideas to improve, which topics should be covered, who should speak, etc.

💡 What's expected?

Successful applicants will be expected to attend meetings to contribute ideas and provide feedback, helping to shape SMC Cymru 2025.

💡 Who can apply?

The Ideas Forum is open to applications from anyone who has an interest or who works in social media and/or marketing. We welcome applications from underrepresented groups and aim to set up a roundtable of individuals who can bring different experiences and backgrounds to the conversation. We also welcome applications from students and graduates who are new to the industry.

💡 What's in it for you?

We’ll fix you up with a free ticket to SMC Cymru 2025 (subject to attendance at meetings), and also pay you £50 per meeting you attend. Being part of the forum will give you valuable insights to what goes on behind the scenes in organising and promoting a large event, that you may be able to take back to your day job or to add to your CV.

Send an email to info@socialmediaconference.cymru with a link to your LinkedIn profile OR a CV, and tell us why we should save you a seat at the table (~100 words).

💡 What happens next?

Successful applicants will be appointed to the SMC Cymru Ideas Forum from November 2024 until Social Media Conference 2025 with an opportunity to reapply for the following year if they wish.
